“Article 1. Purpose of the law. The purpose of this law is to recognize and guarantee the right of women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum and gestational and perinatal mourning with freedom of decision, conscience and respect; as well as to recognize and guarantee the rights of newborns.”
This law generates different benefits such as the humanized cesarean section, where the mother will be practiced this method when it is necessary due to her health condition, likewise if she wishes she can remain accompanied by a person of her choice during the process, the information about the health condition of both the mother and the newborn must be clear, if the mother wishes to observe the birth she can do it with the necessary support.
It must be guaranteed that, in all areas such as childbirth, postpartum and all situations that may arise in the same, the welfare of the mother and her will be ensured, recognizing each of the rights that correspond to her mentioned in Article 4 of this law.
