When contributing to a pension fund in Colombia from abroad, you will have the same benefits in case of disability, etc. The pension contribution can be made in any of the preferred regimes, either in the average premium regime (RPM), which is administered by Colpensiones, or in the individual savings regime with solidarity (RAIS), which is administered by private pension funds.
The countries that have signed bilateral social security agreements with Colombia are Spain, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Portugal, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.
The amount that can be contributed is the same that is already established in Colombia, the base income of contribution corresponds to the income declared by the affiliate, without being less than one (1) smlmv (minimum legal monthly salary in force) or more than twenty-five (25) smlmv.
