Through Resolution 5477, which comes into force in October of this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated the regulations and procedures for the different types of visas, the conditions, requirements and procedures for their application, inadmissibility, review, denial, cancellation, authorization and termination.
An important aspect of this change is that the time to study the visa application was extended, thus generating that the visa and immigration authority will have up to 30 calendar days for the pronouncement, when previously this term was only five days.
The creation of the category of digital nomad visitor visa was also regulated, which is focused to provide remote work or telecommuting services from Colombia, through digital media and internet. This type of visa will be of exclusive use for foreign companies, independent or labor related persons, to start a digital content or information technology enterprise of interest to the country.
